How to Make a Necklace Box

1. Buy or make a jewelry box that measures the length and width of your necklaces. You can use an old jewelry box, or create your own using plywood or Masonite.

2. Cut two pieces of 1/4"-thick plywood to the same length and width as the jewelry box.

3. Glue one piece of plywood to the top front (open) end of the jewelry box, so that it covers the entire opening. Glue the other piece of plywood to the back (closed) end of the jewelry box, so that it covers both sides of the opening. Make sure that there is a 1-inch gap between the two pieces of plywood on each side. This gap will be used to insert your necklaces into the box later on.

4. Insert each necklace into its corresponding hole in the top front (open) end of the plywood cover, making sure that each necklace hangs straight down from its looped ends. If you have long necklaces, you may need to fold them in half before inserting them into the open end of the plywood cover.

5. Slide each necklace out from under its glued-on plywood cover, so that it hangs freely from its loops at both ends (see photo below).

6. Glue the top front (open) end of the plywood cover to the back (closed) end of the jewelry box, so that the gap between the two pieces of plywood is hidden.

7. You're done! Now you can easily store your necklaces in their own special necklace box.
